A Running List of Petitions That Still Need to Hit Their Goals

by Hannah Smith

As allies, it is our job to bring attention to the issues at hand right now. One way to do so is to keep signing petitions and donating to funds for people directly effected. Please see the list below, which will be added to and updated each week.

Make Juneteenth a National Holiday: A holiday meant to celebrate real freedom, and freedom for ALL.

Justice for Breonna Taylor: One hotspot for all petitions and government action to take in Kentucky

Make the KKK Illegal: Hate shouldn’t be tolerated, let alone protected by our own government.

(So close to being complete!) Justice for Dominique Fells: Demand action be taken in the investigation of a Black trans woman’s death.

Justice for Andres: A young boy killed on the job deserves justice.

(So close to being complete!) Pass the Hands Up Act: Punish police for shooting unarmed civilians.

Release Willie Simmons: He’s served over 38 years in prison for a robbery worth $9.

Justice for Tony McDade: Bring charges to the officer who killed an unarmed, Black trans man.

Pass the Georgia Hate Crime Act: Help get justice for Ahmaud Arbery by making a hate crime an actual law.

(So close to being complete!) Stop the Execution of Julius Jones: In a case riddled with racial bias, help take this man off of death row.

Justice for Elijah McClain: Donate directly to the McClain family to help unload a burden.

Reopen the Kendrick Johnson Case: A family seeks justice from law enforcement.

Pass the Black History Education Bill: Demand New York State include Black history in required learning.

Justice for Tete Gulley: Push the Portland Police Department to investigate the death amid foul play.
